Delusions, psychosis, and aggression that occur in a majority of patients with AD is difficult to treat with either pharmacological or psychosocial/environmental approaches.
This review suggests that the HTR2A T102C polymorphism, in particular, is a significant risk factor for delusions and/or hallucinations in AD, while the SLC6A4 polymorphism was not.
