Description

  • The William H. Gates Sr. Fellowship from the AD Data Initiative is a two-year program aimed at accelerating progress toward new Alzheimer's disease diagnostics, treatments, and cures through data sharing and global collaboration.
  • The fellowship is seeking applications from early and mid-career researchers from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to analyze existing human or human-derived data related to Alzheimer's disease.
  • Fellows will focus on creating exemplars that demonstrate breakthroughs in understanding, including exploring, combining, and analyzing existing data from human studies and sharing results with the community.
  • Successful Fellows will receive a financial award of up to $100,000 USD over two years, as well as financial support for conferences and manuscript publishing fees, and more.
  • Applications will be accepted from May 11 through June 11, and successful fellows will be notified in July.
  • Target applicants include early and mid-career researchers with about five to 10 years of postdoctoral experience, with a strong background in, computational, machine learning, statistical or other data-science methods.
  • The AD Data Initiative hopes to create a diverse cohort that includes broad geographic and demographic representation from both the fellows selected and their research focuses.
  • Applicants from a range of specialties, including science, engineering, math, and programming, with innovative data analysis ideas or statistical approaches that could be performed on existing data from human studies, are encouraged to apply.
