A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Ilia Baskakov in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology and the Center for Biomedical Engineering and Technology. The laboratory utilizes multidisciplinary approaches including animal pathology, cellular and molecular biology, primary cell culture, transcriptomics, and stem cell biology for elucidating mechanisms behind viral etiology of Alzheimer’s diseases. The lab is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with strong interests in stem cell biology, viral biology, and chronic neuroinflammation.
Previous experience in primary cell cultures, stem cell biology, HSV-1 biology, mixed glial cell cultures, neural stem cell differentiation, three-dimensional cultures, transcriptome analysis, and immunohistochemistry are highly desirable. Knowledge and expertise in neuroinflammation, astrocytes biology, and HSV-1 are highly desirable. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience, cell and developmental biology, molecular biology, or related disciplines. Candidates are expected to have analytical skills and be proficient in oral and written communication.
