Posterior Cortical Atrophy vs Alzheimer's Disease: tau-total (CSF)
A large number of studies over the past 20 years have quantified tau protein in the cerebrospinal fluid of people with Alzheimer’s disease, finding that levels of tau in AD patients are more than double those of control subjects. Meta-analysis of two eligible studies did not show a statistically significant difference in the levels of tau in the CSF of people with posterior cortical atrophy and people with AD.
