Research Models Database
FAQ
1) How do I suggest a model for inclusion?
We welcome your input! Please contact us at researchmodels@alzforum.org.
2) When was the database last updated?
The database is updated weekly. Individual entries are updated and new models are added on a rolling basis as time allows.
3) What about disease models in other species (e.g., Drosophila, C. elegans, zebrafish)?
Currently, Alzforum’s Research Models database includes information on mouse models of AD, ALS, PD, and related diseases. We plan to include more rat models in the near future. Many other valuable disease models exist, including genetic models in lower vertebrates and invertebrates, as well as models of natural aging in mammals, including non-human primates; however, these are outside the current scope of the database.
4) How can I obtain a model listed in the database?
Alzforum does not sell or distribute animal models, nor do we endorse any particular model or product. This database is an information resource only. Availability information, to the extent that we have it, is included with the description of each model and indicates the commercial source(s) when applicable, or to whom availability inquiries should be addressed.
