Columbia University is recruiting an M.D. or Ph.D. for a T32 Fellowship in the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry, Irving Medical Center. The candidate should have strong and demonstrable interests in aging, neurodegenerative disease, genetics of Alzheimer’s disease (including APOE), and psychiatric disorders in older individuals. He or she should have a robust background in cognitive neuroscience, biomarkers, neuroimaging, and statistics. A cover letter should address the degree to which the candidate fits the criteria noted above, along with a summary of his or her relevant skills, background, future career goals, grant writing, productivity, and prior experiences.
This postdoctoral position is primarily focused on the area of the cognitive system in aging and early stage Alzheimer’s disease and will work on developing early behavioral and neuroimaging markers of Alzheimer’s disease and integrating structural and functional MRI, PET, cognitive, genetic, and biofluid measures from ongoing or completed projects. Fellows will have ample opportunities to explore and gain experience with multidisciplinary and clinical research in aging and Alzheimer’s disease and to interact with core faculty members in the division.
The candidate must be a U.S. citizen or hold a Green Card. The position is up to three years in length. Pay is commensurate with experience and degree. The candidate will be expected to apply for a K Award.
