This position is for a Researcher IV to contribute to a prestigious Parkinson Disease Udall Center Project. The goal of the project is to identify novel therapeutics to reduce inflammation in the brain and prevent the progression of Parkinson's.
- 60 percent rat breeding, stereotactic surgeries, intracardial perfusions, immunohistochemistry
- 10 percent supervising and training staff
- 10 percent IACUC protocols
- 10 percent protein purification
- 10 percent record-keeping

This position requires experience with handling and maintaining colonies of rodents, particularly rats. Skills in techniques such as immunohistochemistry and stereotaxic surgery are desired. Skills in protein purification are also desirable.
This position requires management and assertiveness skills because supervising and training a research team will be required. Detailed, organized, and precise record-keeping skills are also necessary. English proficiency is also required, as this researcher will be expected to assist with animal protocols.
Education minimum requirements—bachelor’s degree.
Experience required—laboratory experience, four years full-time.
