The De Strooper lab, based in the UK DRI at UCL, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated scientist to join the team and contribute toward the establishment of the lab in London. The postholder will be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality research project investigating the cellular response that characterizes Alzheimer’s disease, including designing and running experiments, recording results, analysing data and writing up the results.
The role will involve significant collaboration with other scientists in the UK DRI, the ARUK UCL Drug Discovery Institute, and research groups at KU Leuven and VIB institute in Belgium, and so travel, interaction, and cross-communication will be key elements.
This is a unique opportunity to use a variety of techniques, including single cell transcriptomics, molecular and cellular biology, imaging and functional approaches using human stem cells. The postholder will also have the opportunity to utilize the breadth and depth of expertise and technologies available across the collaborating groups, the UK DRI at UCL and research groups at KU Leuven and the VIB institute.
The post is funded for three years in the first instance.
