The Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center (ADRC) Fluid Biomarker Core Laboratory, under the direction of Anne Fagan, in the Department of Neurology, is seeking an individual with experience in wet lab project management for a full-time research faculty position. The candidate will provide scientific and project managerial oversight for large-scale, multi-modal research projects investigating fluid biomarkers in Alzheimer disease, notably for the multicultural Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer Network (DIAN) and the affiliated DIAN Trials Unit (DIAN-TU).
The candidate will work closely with the Fluid Biomarker Core Leader (Dr. Fagan) and DIAN/DIAN-TU investigators and staff (and the associate core leader, Suzanne Schindler, and others at the Knight ADRC) in writing/reviewing grants, progress reports and manuscripts, creating budgets, giving presentations, providing training, and carrying out other potential duties required for the successful operation of the core.
This position is a research-track faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with academic experience and qualifications.
Successful candidates should have wet lab experience and also be familiar with and/or have experience in clinical trial operations. Candidates should also have leadership experience including project management, personnel supervision, task delegation, decision making, conflict resolution, and effective communication, preferably in the context of multidisciplinary/multifunctional research teams. Experience working in culturally diverse environments is highly preferred, and successful candidates should possess competencies and demonstrated expertise in multicultural settings.
