The postdoc will perform surgical and behavioral analyses of transgenic mice for Alzheimer’s disease research. Additional responsibilities may include: routine cell culture, molecular biology, and histology techniques, including tissue cultures, cell fixation, and permeabilization, cell lysis, protein quantification (BCA assay), Western blot, tissue processing for microtome sectioning and immunohistostaining.

He or she will also guide a research study, experiments and assays including collection and analysis of data, preparation of solutions, and set-up and maintenance of equipment; comply with established safety procedures and maintain required documentation in the laboratory; and ensure lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.


A Ph.D. is preferred for this position. However, a bachelor’s degree in a biological discipline and two years of research experience; or a master’s degree in a biological discipline. Progressively responsible experience involving scientific laboratory or field work may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
