Description

The University of Kentucky is seeking a postdoctoral scholar position in the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, an established research center in aging and dementia where independent basic and clinical scientists work in a collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will benefit from experienced mentors, a stimulating and collaborative research environment, and organized training plan, with encouragement for academic growth, career enhancement, and development into an independent researcher. The current project is funded by NIH and postdocs are encouraged to prepare research proposals and writing fellowship applications to acquire external funding as opportunities arise.

The school seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic and collaborative individual to work on various aspects of its Down's syndrome aging study, which has been ongoing since 2010. The study is multidisciplinary and encompasses clinical, neuroimaging and basic science research. Applicants with an interest in neuroimaging or neurobiological studies of aging and dementia in DS are invited to apply.

An MD/PhD with less than 4 years post doctoral experience.

Previous experience with either analyzing neuroimaging data (e.g. DTI, T2*, FLAIR, MRS, ASL) OR expertise in molecular neurobiology (microscopy, anatomy, ELISA, Western blotting and/or immunohistochemistry) is required.
