Two NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are available immediately for highly-motivated individuals to participate in Alzheimer's disease research. Successful candidates will investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis, the link between AD and Type 2 diabetes, and AD-associated synaptic abnormalities using transgenic and knock-out mouse models as well as primary cultures.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and train with experienced molecular, cellular, and developmental neuroscientists investigating various aspects of the nervous system function and dysfunction.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or MD./Ph.D. in a related field, and a strong background in mouse models of neurodegenerative diseases, synaptic physiology, or advanced microscopy applications. Only candidates with previous experience in molecular pathogenesis in animal models of AD or T2D, live-cell/super-resolution imaging, neuronal protein trafficking, or oligodendrocyte biology will be considered for these positions. Preference will be given to candidates with interdisciplinary training and a strong publication record.
