The University of California, Irvine’s Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders has an opportunity for a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Ali Mortazavi to work on projects related to mouse models of Alzheimer’s diseases. The position will be appointed at the level commensurate with the education and experience of the individual candidate and is for a period of one year with the possibility of renewal. This position requires a Ph.D. degree in systems biology, genomics, or developmental and cell biology. A major focus of this position will be to analyze functional genomics data from mouse models and to select candidate human GWAS variants for the next generation of mouse AD models based on functional genomics and comparative genomics results. Prior experience in RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, mammalian regulatory conservation, and integrative analysis of genomics data is important. Candidates should have a record of completed graduate research that can be directly applied to the fields of interest listed above. The successful candidate must have a strong publication record and a broad range of skills, including the ability to maintain effective interactions and collaborations with other members of the lab and Institute.
