Postdoctoral Research Fellows: Selective Autophagy in Neurodegeneration
Posted 07 Dec 2018
Qualified candidates should provide a letter stating research experiences and interests, CV, and contact details of three references to Wolfdieter Springer, Springer.Wolfdieter@mayo.edu.
The fellows will perform functional research investigating the roles of selective autophagy pathways in aging and neurodegenerative diseases. Toward a better understanding of the biology that will bridge the gap between genetics and neuropathology, the lab employs a multidisciplinary approach, using clinical and pathological specimens together with novel genome-engineered neuronal models and implement molecular, structural, and biochemical studies along with state-of-the-art imaging of cells and tissues. The fellows will obtain training in various disciplines and will participate in the discovery of pathomechanisms and the development of novel biomarkers and disease-modifying therapeutic options. Recent Ph.D. in cell biology, structural biology, biochemistry or neuroscience. Preference will be given to ambitious, motivated applicants with a track record of peer-reviewed publications and a career interest in neurodegenerative diseases.
