NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are available immediately in environmental medicine in the laboratory of Irfan Rahman to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of inhaled toxicants-mediated cellular senescence and mitochondrial dysfunction in the lungs (fibrosis and COPD) with special emphasis on chromatin remodeling, inflammation, deacetylases, exosomes, redox signaling, epigenetics, SIRT1 regulation, and molecular clock.

The successful candidates will join a vibrant team in studying the mechanisms and therapeutic targets in the pathogenesis of COPD and lung fibrosis using various cell culture and animal models. Expertise in cell culture, inhalation toxicology, biochemical and molecular biology techniques and animal work (mouse) is desirable. Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in life sciences or related field is required.
