A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Department of Biology of The University of Texas at San Antonio. Research in the laboratory focuses on the pathogenic mechanism of Alzheimer's disease with a particular emphasis on the molecular mechanism of neurodegeneration. The successful applicant will work as part of a team with broad expertise in a variety of experimental techniques and animal model systems.
The candidate should hold a Ph.D. for the postdoctoral position and hasve a strong conceptual and experimental background in molecular/cellular neurobiology or other related fields. Experience with transgenic mouse models, primary neuron culture, molecular/cellular techniques including western blotting, immunocytochemistry, qRT-PCR, and rodent stereotaxic surgery would be desirable.
