Marc Aurel Busche

The Busche lab (busche at the U.K. Dementia Research Institute is looking for a highly-motivated and self-driven individual to work on an exciting project that aims to identify the cellular causes of the devastating learning and memory impairments observed in individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. For this purpose, cutting-edge in vivo electrophysiology as well as 2-photon microscopic imaging of cortex and hippocampus in novel mouse models will be employed. The successful candidate will be self-directed with excellent research skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team of researchers while maintaining independent thinking and initiative.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in neuroscience or a neuroscience-related quantitative discipline (e.g., physics, applied mathematics, engineering, bioinformatics). Extensive experience with in vivo patch-clamp electrophysiology in rodent brains, strong programming and coding ability (e.g., MATLAB, Python), and a strong statistical analysis background are essential.
