Postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratories of Nicholas Varvel and Ray Dingledine in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Emory University School of Medicine. Successful applicants will be team players and join a growing research group investigating neuroinflammation in acute and chronic neurologic disease, including epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease. Individuals will work on projects funded by the NIH and private foundation grants investigating the mechanisms and consequences of innate immune cell activation, recruitment, and signaling, using mouse models of epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease. Successful applicants should have expertise in molecular and cellular biology, histology, mouse modeling, and neurobiology. Previous experience with flow cytometry, rodent behavior, microscopy, and stereology will be advantageous.
