Description
NIA is the primary federal agency supporting and conducting Alzheimer's disease research. NIA is looking for scientists to develop and administrator research to combat age-related conditions to promote health longevity.
Position duties include:
- Developing, expanding, and overseeing programs, performing computational research, and managing clinical trial portfolios.
- Collaborating with other NIA Divisions to address common research challenges.
- Devising programs, overseeing applications and awards, and interacting with the scientific community at meetings and workshops and participating in the NIA and NIH.
Requirements
- A degree (preferably a Ph.D. or equivalent) in health or pertinent sciences (i.e., neuroscience, biology, genomics, etc.) allied to health, health related research, behavioral and/or social sciences.
- Recognizable accomplishment and career progression in a research activity related to health or biomedical/behavioral sciences.
- Ability to communicate effectively, to plan, initiate, administer, and evaluate a scientific program successfully.
- Familiarity with the dynamics of health-related research.
