The U.K. Dementia Institute is looking for an experienced senior researcher in the field of Alzheimer’s disease, clinical or basic science oriented, to lead the Dementia Research Institute Centre at University College London (UCL). The director will closely interact with the neurologists at Queen Square and be part of the national board of the Dementia Research Institute. The director will have his or her own, significant research program and major funding will be provided.

The associate director will lead the research hub of the UK DRI @ UCL, providing scientific direction, developing UCL-wide collaborative opportunities, conducting research and contributing to the growth of the U.K. DRI.
Lead—As part of the U.K. DRI leadership team, he or she will promote the U.K. DRI objectives of excellence in dementia research by providing vision and leadership.
Research—He or she will direct his or her own internationally competitive research programme in dementia or neurodegeneration, creating a stimulating environment that fosters talent and encourages excellence.
Connect—He or she will work as a scientific leader within the U.K. DRI promoting rigorous exciting research, fostering collaboration, and building bridges. The associate director will develop, maintain, and nurture significant, open, and productive relationships with the Institute of Neurology, other researchers and investigators locally, nationally, and internationally.
Appointment details:
  • The post is available immediately and is open to clinical and non-clinical applicants.
  • The associate director element of the position is funded for five years in the first instance, with the opportunity for renewal.
  • The post holder will carry an appropriate UCL faculty rank; open-ended.
