The Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and the Department of Neurology at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University is seeking a young investigator to join their internationally recognized clinical research program in Alzheimer’s disease as a full-time neurologist or psychiatrist for a position in the Alzheimer’s research program at Butler Hospital. The position combines clinical work and research in the Memory and Aging Program with protected time for independent scholarly activity. The research focus is on development of biomarkers and new treatments for prevention and early intervention. Brown provides an excellent environment for interdisciplinary and translational research in neurodegenerative disorders. The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time medical faculty academic appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior or the Department of Neurology at the Warren Alpert Medical School.


Minimum requirements include: Doctoral degree, licensed to practice medicine in Rhode Island, board eligibility or certification in neurology or psychiatry, strong clinical background with patients with cognitive disorders, excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly participation in the Alzheimer’s disease research programs of the Warren Alpert Medical School. Experience and/or fellowship training in cognitive neurology/geriatric psychiatry is highly desirable. It is preferred that the candidate’s research experience focus on Alzheimer’s disease or a closely related field.
