NIH Directors Transformative Research Awards (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) (RFA-RM-24-004)

Sponsor: National Institutes of Health

Award: NIH intends to commit approximately $8 million in FY 2025 and make approximately 7 awards, depending on the size and scope of the most meritorious awards. Application budgets are not limited but must be commensurate with the scope of the proposed research. The maximum project period is five years.

Clin-STAR Aging Research Development and Training Awards

Sponsor: Clinician-Scientists Transdisciplinary Aging Research (Clin-STAR) Coordinating Center

Award: Up to $50,000 in direct cost and up to 8% ($4,000) for indirect cost may be budgeted. Awards will be made to early-career clinician-scientists who work collaboratively with established (senior) investigator(s). A mentor with aging research expertise is required.

Due Date: Letters of Intent due: May 1, 2024. Invitations to submit full applications: mid-late May 2024. Full application deadline: July 15, 2024.

BRAIN Initiative: Research on the Ethical Implications of Advancements in Neurotechnology and Brain Science (R01 Clinical Trial Optional) (RFA-MH-25-170)

Sponsor: National Institutes of Health

Award: NIH BRAIN and partner components intend to commit an estimated total of $3M in fiscal years 2025, 2026, 2027 to fund up to 8 new awards, each year, contingent upon annual appropriations. Application budgets are limited to $300,000 in direct costs in any project year.

BRAIN Initiative: Research on the Ethical Implications of Advancements in Neurotechnology and Brain Science (R21 Clinical Trial Optional) (RFA-MH-25-171)

Sponsor: National Institutes of Health

Award: NIH BRAIN and partner components intend to commit an estimated total of $2M in fiscal years 2025, 2026, 2027 to fund up to 8 new awards each year for this RFA, contingent upon annual appropriations. The combined budget for direct costs for the two-year project period may not exceed $275,000. No more than $200,000 may be requested in any single year.
