Frontotemporal Dementia vs Alzheimer's Disease: GFAP (Plasma and Serum)
Meta-analysis of four comparisons did not show a statistically significant difference in the levels of glial fibrillary acid protein in the blood of people with frontotemporal dementia and people with Alzheimer's disease. For comparison, the level of GFAP in the blood of control subjects is about half that of people with Alzheimer's disease.
