Job Title: Assistant/Associate Professor Positions
Employer: Wake Forest School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Description: Wake Forest School of Medicine is seeking researchers for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level whose research programs investigate the contribution of metabolic conditions such as insulin resistance to Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia pathogenesis. Ideal candidates will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: 1) molecular biology using animal models and cell culture systems; 2) histopathology and biochemical analysis of human and non-human primate brain tissue; 3) biochemistry and use of 'omic' platforms for the purpose of biomarker development. Applicants should have a proven track record of consistent publications and independent funding in the area of brain/metabolism interactions.
Requirements: An M.D. or Ph.D. degree in one of the following disciplines: Neurobiology or Neuroscience with expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology and neurodegenerative diseases. A history of successful extramural funding is also required. This position will be appointed at the level that is commensurate with the education and experience of the individual candidate.
