A postdoctoral position is available in the Kraemer
lab located at the University of Washington in Seattle.
We use C. elegans to model the neurodegeneration seen
in Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and
other aging related disorders.
We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow who works
well with others as part of a research team. The ability to
design, conduct, and report on research experiments is
required.
Communication skills, organizational skills, and a
willingness to learn new approaches are of
paramount importance. The fellow will pursue the
underlying causes of aging associated protein aggregation in
neurodegenerative disease using transgenic C. elegans
models.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- development of transgenic models for aging related
disorders;
- genetic screening for modifiers of neurodegeneration;
- effective communication with internal and external
researchers;
- reporting of research findings.
