Job Title: Postdoctoral Position in Drosophila Tauopathy Models
Employer: Institut Pasteur, Lille, France
Description: A postdoctoral position is available in Inserm U744 - Team 3 'Molecular determinants of neurodegenerative disease' at the Institut Pasteur de Lille. The team has strong expertise in human genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and uses integrated multidisciplinary approaches, including Drosophila genetics, to study the molecular pathogenesis of AD and related forms of dementia. The postdoctoral project will involve the validation and functional characterization of novel Tau toxicity modifiers in Drosophila resulting from a systematic screen of Tau protein interactome partners and GWAS hits. The candidate will work closely with other team members using complementary approaches including human genetics, cell biology, biochemistry and confocal microscopy.

The Institut Pasteur de Lille hosts several high-level research teams working in a multidisciplinary environment integrating public health and basic research. Our unit has access to cutting-edge technology platforms available at the Institute and the University, including next-generation sequencing, proteomics, trancriptomics, NMR spectroscopy, and microscopy facilities. In addition, the team is embedded in the multidisciplinary AD research community of Lille, which has its roots in a historical collaboration among clinical neurologists, neuropathologists, geneticists and research scientists in biochemistry and molecular biology.

Requirements: Candidates should hold a PhD or MD/PhD and have a background in molecular biology. Experience in Drosophila genetics is a plus but not required. We are particularly interested in candidates who are familiar with the neurodegeneration field.
Contact: Candidates should send a letter of motivation and a CV including research experience and a list of publications. Please also provide the name and contact details of at least two referees. Please send information to Bart Dermaut.
