Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Employer: Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, Missouri
Description: We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join the lab of Dr. Randy Bateman in the Neurology Department at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis in order to investigate the metabolism of ApoE as it relates to Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Accumulation of toxic Amyloid Beta (A?) peptides is thought to be at the core of AD pathogenesis. Recently, we demonstrated that altered A? metabolism was associated with early stages of AD. ApoE genotype is a major risk factor in the development of AD. Thus, we are investigating the link between A? and ApoE metabolism as it relates to the development of AD in the human central nervous system.
Requirements: 1. Applicants must have a recent doctoral level degree with experience in lc/ms and protein biochemistry. Familiarity with protein metabolism (stable isotope labeling) studies and AD is desirable but not required.

2. Applicants should have excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to conduct research independently with demonstrated motivation and productivity.

3. Applicants currently in the US and holding a US visa to begin immediately are preferred.

Contact: Please send an inquiry letter including research interests and goals, curriculum vitae and 3 references to kastent@neuro.wustl.edu or address provided. Please send CV (e-mail preferred) to:
