A postdoctoral position is available in the team of Dr. W.
Haung Yu. The laboratory is focused on proteinopathy in
Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s disease, in particular autophagy
(see Yu et al.,
2005; Yu et
al., 2009; Congdon et al.,
2012). The laboratory is equipped with multiple cell and
animal models for biochemical and histochemical studies with
an emphasis on small molecule and therapeutic development.
The Taub Institute at Columbia University has a strong team
of scientists of varied disciplines investigating
Alzheimer’s and related diseases of aging.
The Scientist will perform studies on the role of protein
homeostasis in the aging brain and Alzheimer disease.
Techniques that will be utilized include neuroanatomy,
immunohistochemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology.
He/she should be motivated and organized, and participate in
weekly lab meetings and periodically present his/her data.
