Job Title: Postdoctoral Scientist
Employer: Taub Institute, Columbia University, New York City
Description: A postdoctoral position is available in the team of Dr. W. Haung Yu. The laboratory is focused on proteinopathy in Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s disease, in particular autophagy (see Yu et al., 2005; Yu et al., 2009) The laboratory is equipped with multiple cell and animal models for biochemical and histochemical studies with an emphasis on small molecule and therapeutic development. The Taub Institute at Columbia University has a strong team of scientists of varied disciplines investigating Alzheimer’s and related diseases of aging.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of assays for the analysis of protein homeostasis and small molecule validation in cell and animal models.

Requirements: The candidate should hold a Ph.D. with research background in cell biology or pharmacology and experience in microscopy and immunofluorescent/cell based assays requested. The candidate should be organized, proactive, productive, and able to present work in regular lab meetings and at international conferences.
