Job Title: Physician-Scientist in Neurodegenerative Diseases
Employer: McLaughlin Research Institute (MRI), Great Falls, Montana
Description: McLaughlin Research Institute (MRI) seeks an innovative physician-scientist with an established, funded program in neurodegenerative disease who can take advantage of the Institute's strengths in mouse genetics and who has the skills and vision to establish a clinical research program in partnership with Benefits Health System (BHS). BHS is consistently ranked among America's top hospitals and serves a population of 230,000. Low animal care costs and transgenic services at MRI facilitate mouse-intensive projects that would be cost-prohibitive at many other centers. MRI and BHS each fill unique, vital roles in Great Falls and the surrounding region of Montana, and have a joint interest in helping to understand, prevent and treat neurodegenerative diseases that can accompany aging. A cooperative alliance between the two institutions would meld each organization's strengths and directly benefit patients.

Our location near Montana's Rocky Mountain Front offers unparalleled opportunities for outdoor recreation and faculty members benefit from the active involvement of MRI's Scientific Advisory Committee (Irv Weissman, David Baltimore, David Cameron, Neal Copeland, Jeff Frelinger, Leroy Hood, and Nancy Jenkins). Contact George Carlson, MRI's Director, for more information.

Requirements: Applicants with interests in mouse and human stem cell models for Alzheimer's and related diseases are particularly encouraged to apply. An endowed chair is a possibility for the successful candidate.
Contact: Applications, including names and contact information for three to five individuals who may serve as references, should be sent to:
