Description:

A position for a Research Scientist is available immediately
at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and University of
Illinois Chicago, to study the neurobiology of traumatic
brain injury and Alzheimer's disease. The laboratory is
focused on investigating the therapeutic effects of
candidate neurotherapies in the rodent models of traumatic
brain injury and Alzheimer's disease, using cellular and
molecular approaches. Studies will utilize multiple
techniques including ELISA, protein/enzyme assays, Tissue
culture, transgenic breeding and genotyping of tail genomic
DNA, Immunoblotting, Gene Expression Analysis, qRTPCR.

Requirements:
|
We seek a highly motivated and creative scientist with an
intellectual rigor. Preference will be given to the
candidates with demonstrated expertise in neurochemical and
molecular techniques such as ELISA, protein/enzyme assays,
tissue culture, genotyping of tail genomic DNA,
Immunoblotting, qRTPCR, in addition to routine animal and
laboratory procedures and maintenance of
equipment/ordering/chemicals etc. The scientific environment
encourages and facilitates collaborations throughout UIC
neuroscience community.
