Job Title: Scientist/Senior Scientist, Neurology Pharmacodynamic Biomarkers

The Department of Pharmacodynamic (PD) Biomarkers is a translational Pharmacology group dedicated to translating novel research discoveries into effective therapeutics for unmet medical needs. An important part of our success is the use of relevant and novel PD biomarkers to help drive our decision making on which drugs to bring forward and how to dose them appropriately. The department of PD Biomarkers is currently seeking a highly motivated scientist/senior scientist to help develop a program to support our Neurology and Metabolic Disease areas.

This individual will lead a small laboratory group that develops and validates PD biomarkers for use in pre-clinical and clinical research. This individual will coordinate and manage PD biomarker strategies for Neurology and Metabolic disease projects and be responsible for their implementation in clinical development. This position will require close interaction with Research, PK/PD Sciences, Diagnostics and Clinical departments.

Requirements: Candidates must have a PhD or MD/PhD in Neurology or Pharmacology with seven or more years of industrial or relevant academic experience. Preferred candidates will have experience in basic neurology, preclinical pharmacology, development of PD biomarker assays and their implementation in clinical trials. In addition to strong scientific skills in translational biology/ pharmacology, this individual must have strong leadership and managerial skills to allow coordination of multiple projects. He/she must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work on interdepartmental project teams. A record of cutting-edge research in neurological and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's as demonstrated by publications in top tier journals and external presentations is required.
