Role of Intracellular Aß42 in AD
If Aß deposition begins in an intracellular compartment where concentration is high, one has an obvious explanation as to why deposition occurs in the form of microscopic, punctate plaques.
- Focal, plaque-like deposition is more difficult to explain if one postulates that deposition begins in the extracellular space where Aß concentration is lower and more uniform.
