Role of Aß42 in AD
Studies of AD and trisomy 21 brains have shown that Aß42 (a minor form of secreted Aß) is deposited early and selectively in the senile plaques that invariably develop in these brains.
In vitro, synthetic Aß1-42 forms fibrils more rapidly that Aß1-40.
