ALZGENE

The AlzGene database is a collection of published genetic association
studies performed on AD phenotypes. The database includes summaries of key characteristics
of the investigated populations, as well as genotype distributions in cases and
controls. AlzGene also provides continuously updated random-effects meta-analyses
for polymorphisms with genotype data in at least three case-control samples.

ALZRISK

The AlzRisk database is a collection of findings from of epidemiologic
reports that evaluate environmental (i.e., non-genetic) risk factors for Alzheimer
disease (AD) in well-defined study cohorts. For each risk factor included in the
database, we includes summaries of key characteristics of the studies, as well as
interpretive remarks. AlzRisk also provides random-effects meta-analyses when comparable
data are available from at least four independent samples. Additions of new studies
and risk factors are ongoing.

ANTIBODIES

The most comprehensive collection on the web of neuroscience-related
antibodies from commercial and nonprofit sources. Antigen-specific antibodies are
listed in easy-to-scan tables, and each product is linked to a detailed datasheet.

BIOMARKERS

Our Biomarkers section includes links to the ACS database, Telemakus
knowledge base, Antecedent Biomarker workshop summaries, and WashU database.

MUTATIONS

A listing of all of the reported mutations in amyloid-beta precursor
protein (AβPP), presenilin-1 (PS1) and presenilin-2 (PS2)—the three known
genetic causes of autosomal dominant, familial Alzheimer disease—as well as
mutations in the tau gene that cause inherited frontotemporal dementia with Parkinsonism
(FTDP).

PATHWAYS

This Pathways Compendium provides an index of Alzheimer disease pathway
models contributed by researchers and companies.

PROTOCOLS

Search our protocols and reagents database to find experimental protocols
that are central to the progress of Alzheimer research. These include protocols
for preparing tissues and cell cultures, purifying and identifying biomolecules
that may play a role in disease pathogenesis, methods for working with various model
systems, imaging studies and behavioral assays.

RESEARCH MODELS

An inventory of research models that are relevant to understanding
Alzheimer disease. We provide a central publication forum for quickly reporting
and updating data on all published models. Related models are grouped into tables
to facilitate comparisons of different models and to provide information on the
availability of each model.

by HBO Documentary Films and other sponsors to see some of the leading scientists
in academia and drug development speak directly to key issues in AD research today.
