This paper opens new avenues for noninvasively monitoring Alzheimer disease (AD)-like Abeta deposits in animal models using non-radioactive probes that could facilitate diagnosis of AD and clinical trials of potential AD drugs aimed at reducing Abete plaques. The AD neuroimaging field is exploding with many exciting new molecular imaging modalities as exemplified by this novel study.
