It seems this review emphasizes CSF and imaging biomarkers and their potential to detect disease "while the symptoms of brain failure are mild". Although these classes of biomarker have utility in research and offer importance insights into disease pathophysiology, their invasive nature or expense severely limits their applicability to early detection of disease.
