  1. Munch et al. overstate the case for advanced glycation endproducts (AGE) when they say these endproducts can explain neuronal death, oxidative stress and so forth in AD. To support this claim, they must show that the AGE levels are already high in the early stages of AD before neuronal degeneration has occurred and they must show that the levels are high in the exact brain regions where the neurodegeneration is occurring etc. Otherwise they must be viewed simply as endproducts that accumulate as a consequence of other pathological processes rather than as the cause of all such pathological processes
