My comment is that they would need to do a conditional knockout of flt-1 in microglia to make the case more convincing. Flt-1 is well documented to be endothelial specific, and when I look at our gene profiles of various purified brain cell types (neurons, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, endothelial cells, and microglia—including activated microglia), the only ones that express flt-1 are endothelial cells.
