  I recommend this paper

Nice and challenging paper! The phagocytic functions of astrocytes are no surprise to neuropathologists. In human brain abscesses, astrocytes can be seen phagocytosing bacteria.

REAGENTS/MATERIAL:
Antibodies used in this study are:
Preparation of Panning Plates:
Primary antibodies included O4 and O1 hybridoma supernatant (mouse IgM, Bansal et al., 1989), anti-GalC hybridoma supernatant (mouse IgG, Ranscht et al., 1982); anti-MOG hybridoma supernatant (mouse IgG, from R. Reynolds, Imperial College, London, UK); mouse monoclonal anti-A2B5 (105) (American Type Culture Collection) and rat monoclonal anti-PDGFRα (APA5) (BD Biosciences-Pharmingen)
Immunohistochemistry:
Sections were incubated with Molecular Probes Alexa Fluor 594 and 488 goat anti-rabbit and anti-mouse 594 IgG highlycrossed adsorbed secondary antibodies at 1:500 (Molecular Probes-Invitrogen, A11029, A11037, A11032); Primary antibodies included rabbit anti-rat Aldh1L1 (Krupenko and Oleinik, 2002); mouse monoclonal anti-rat GFAP (G-A-5) (Sigma); rabbit anti-mouse GFAP (Dako); mouse monoclonal anti-β tubulin isotype III (SDL.3D10) (Sigma); mouse monoclonal anti-NG2 (1:400, Chemicon-Millipore); mouse monoclonal anti-MBP (1) (1:100, Chemicon-Millipore); and mouse monoclonal anti-APC (CC-1) (Calbiochem-EMD Chemicals)
