REAGENTS/MATERIAL:

APPFAD J20 line (neuronal expression of familial-AD mutant hAPP: K670N, M671L, V717F, under the PDGF promoter) animals on a mixed C57BL/6 and DBA2 (B6D2) background and wt mice were used for immunization experiments.

Anti-Ab40 antibodies in mouse plasma were measured with an anti-Ab40 antibody ELISA assay as described by Levites et al., 2006. The following antibodies were used for neuropathological analysis: anti-CD45 (1:5000; Serotec), anti-GFAP (1:500; Dako), anti-CD5 (1:200; BD PharMingen), rabbit polyclonal anti-Ab R1282 (1:1000; gift from D. Selkoe, CND, Boston, MA) and anti-Ab40 and anti-Ab42 (1:500; BioSource).
