Presenilin cleaves both APP and Notch, but the corresponding Nbeta peptide has never been identified. This manuscript shows a striking concordance between Notch processing and APP processing and identifies the long sought-after Nbeta peptide. Very interesting.

REAGENTS/MATERIAL:

The polyclonal antibody 6521 and the rat monoclonal antibody 5E9 were raised against a synthetic peptide corresponding to the N-terminus of Notch extracellular truncation. Antibodies 9E10 against the c-Myc epitope, 4G8 against the Ab peptide, and H114 against the C-terminus of Jagged-1 were purchased.
