I recommend this paper
The paper by Mohajeri et al. is interesting in that the increased vulnerability of APPsw mice to seizure induced cell death could be due to APP overexpression or due to increased levels of soluble Abeta. Evidence that increased vulnerability to death is due to Abeta is that an antibody against Abeta (not APP) decreased cell death when passively administered. This suggests that under certain injury conditions, even soluble forms of Abeta in the absence of plaques can be injurious. View all comments by David Holtzman
