REAGENTS/MATERIAL:
The following primary antibodies were used:
mouse monoclonal anti-α-tubulin (DM1A) (Sigma Aldrich); mouse monoclonal antibody anti-tau (TauC3) to Tau truncated at Asp⁴²¹; rabbit polyclonal antibodies 134d, 111e and 92e to total Tau; monoclonal anti-tau (Tau-1) to Tau nonphosphorylated at Ser198/199/202 and polyclonal anti-Tau p-Thr181, p-Ser214, p-Ser396 and p-Ser422, all from BIOSOURCE, Camarillo, CA.
Tau and Caspase Staining: The total Tau was immunolabeled with the primary antibody 134d. For double labeled active caspase-3 and Tau, the primary antibodies used were rabbit polyclonal anti-active caspase-3 (Abcam, Cambridge, MA) and mouse monoclonal anti-TAU-5 (Becton Dickinson Biosciences, Bedford, MA).
