This paper shows that cholesterol is a key for APP metabolism to produce A-beta. This may be relevant to the function of ApoE.

This is an interesting paper as it may explain the role of ApoE in Ab production as well as the mechanism of g-secretase cleavage. The problem is that no correlation has been demonstrated between cholesterol levels and AD.
