REAGENTS/MATERIAL:

Studied mice with mutations in The Notch1 signaling pathway and mice with heterozygous mutations in the downstream cofactor RBP-J. The Notch1+/− population was backcrossed eight generations into the C57BL/6J background. The RBP-J+/− population was backcrossed 13 generations into the C57BL/6N background.
