Shared Pain Is Lessened Pain? Drug Makers to Pool Trial Failure Data
11 June 2010. The Wall Street Journal reported today that five major pharmaceutical firms are pooling data on 4,000 patients across 11 failed trials into a joint database in an attempt to learn where things went wrong. The database is the brainchild of the Coalition Against Major Diseases PRNewswire story, which will be managed by the nonprofit Critical Path Institute (C-Path). According to the Journal article, the database will be open not only to the participating companies, but also to qualified outside researchers with valid research problems. For ample information about the new database, read up at CAMD page and then hone your questions, folks!—Gabrielle Strobel.
