We seek a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a demonstrated track record in basic or translational neuroscience/lipid biology interested in pursuing academic-style postdoctoral work in an industry setting. The ideal candidate will use the tools available and develop the necessary tools and reagents to explore the role of APP and its processing on intracellular cholesterol dynamics and the regulation of tau phosphorylation in Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSC's) derived from Alzheimer's disease patients, in an attempt to identify novel pathways for therapeutic intervention in AD.
Responsibilities include planning, executing, and analyzing data. Experience in MS Excel, GraphPad, or other program for data analysis is required. The candidate selected will be expected to publish his or her data in top-tier journals, attend and present at international meetings, and collaborate across groups in the research unit.
- Qualified individuals will have a Ph.D. in the appropriate discipline to enable them to perform at the highest level.
- Must have experience in cellular imaging and molecular biology (e.g., cloning, protein expression, RNAi, evaluation of gene expression, protein purification, enzyme assays, live-cell imaging, confocal microscopy, endocytosis assays, etc.).
- Experience in Alzheimer's disease research and/or cholesterol metabolism and iPS cell generation and handling, although not essential, is highly desired.
