The Long Goodbye is a poignant and compelling CD by Pat Surface. A unique blend of Celtic and Eastern European sounds and rhythms, it combines traditional and original compositions — and features the warm resonance of Pat's vocals and LaPlant acoustic guitar—with violin, cello, and subtle percussion. It is a beautiful, mellow, and thought-provoking album.

Listen to a sample (mp3).

The CD is dedicated to Pat's father-in-law, Rocco Michael Passaretti, a victim of Alzheimer's disease. A gentle, funny, and joy-filled man, Rocco was always determined to make you smile. He loved music, and would sing you a tune and dance you a jig with a glint in his eye that could light up the world. Pat's Long Goodbye Project is a fitting tribute to Rocco's legacy.

A portion of the income of The Long Goodbye CD is dedicated to integrative medical research on the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. 100% of the profits from Pat's "Long Goodbye Tour" are also dedicated to this effort. All money raised by Pat and his team will go into a fund established in Rocco's name—APFI Rocco Michael Passaretti Research Fund. You can find more information on The Long Goodbye Project, and purchase this important CD at http://www.PatSurface.com

Hello dear friends,

At 6:20 this morning my daddy went to The Lord following the very Long Goodbye of Alzheimer's disease. His passing was peaceful. My mom and I held on to him while we watched him take his last breath. This horrendous disease wasted him to no more than a whisper and a shadow. Our family kept a vigil by his bedside for days, one or more of us always holding him, speaking to him, loving him. Daddy goes to his awesome reward. We are left to fight this awful disease that robs not once but many times before it's done. In my father's name, and his beautiful memory, we pledge to conquer Alzheimer's disease.

God bless you, and thank you for your prayers.
Donna
