What is the greatest void to date in our knowledge of Alzheimer's Disease?
Inability to prevent neuronal loss and
Inability to understand why protein aggregates and begin accumulation in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's patients
What are the top three papers (not yours) you have read recently?
1. Geerlings MI, den Heijer T, Koudstaal PJ, Hofman A, Breteler MM.
History of depression, depressive symptoms, and medial temporal lobe atrophy and the risk of Alzheimer disease.Neurology. 2008 Apr 8;70(15):1258-64. PMID: 18391157 [PubMed - in proces]

2- Hoyer W, Grönwall C, Jonsson A, Ståhl S, Härd T.Stabilization of a beta-hairpin in monomeric Alzheimer's amyloid-beta peptide inhibits amyloid formation.Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2008 Apr 1;105(13):5099-104. Epub 2008 Mar 28. PMID: 18375754 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]

3- Liang WS, Reiman EM, Valla J, Dunckley T, Beach TG, Grover A, Niedzielko TL, Schneider LE, Mastroeni D, Caselli R, Kukull W, Morris JC, Hulette CM, Schmechel D, Rogers J, Stephan DA.Alzheimer's disease is associated with reduced expression of energy metabolism genes in posterior cingulate neurons.Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2008 Mar 18;105(11):4441-6. Epub 2008 Mar 10. PMID: 18332434 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]
If resources were not limited, what research projects would you pursue?
1. Selective amyloid beta toxicity
2. Related to prevention of amyloid beta protein and alpha synuclein aggregation and accumulation and prevention of neuronal cell death
What is your leading hypothesis?
I believe that mistargetting of amyloid beta protein and alpha synuclein together with inability of their clearance when these proteins are modified are the main cause of symptoms leading to development of neurodegenerative diseases.
Brain excercise is necessary to prevent development of these diseases.Brain energetics is another factor that contribute a major factor in diseases.Mitochondrial turnover, the power house of cell should be increases in brain cells.

Overall persons environment contribute a lot in development of neurodegenerative diseases. Think positively, feel energetically, full of happiness all environmental conditions will be necessary to keep away with these diseases.

Finally search for bug that recognizes these mistargeted protein and initiate clearance from deposited sites.
What piece of missing evidence would help prove it?
1. Mistargetd protein clearance mechanism
2. Identify what intra-or intercellular factors secreated within brain that are necessary to keep neurons healthy.
What is your fallback position?
Continue of exploring cause and consequence
